It’s a quick-read and it is very well-written.
The way the book made (bound, printed etc) is similar to other recent children's books such as Lemony Snicket, Spiderwick, etc. It is also written in a very simple style, easy enough I would say for kids 8 and over to read, understand and enjoy. Most adults will get through it in one sitting
